How often do you get part way into a bead project only to realize you don’t like the colors?

Or, you get part way through a project, life gets in the way and you forget about it for a few month (or years!)

For more than ten years of my beading life, I’ve had many ‘false starts’. I am usually too impatient to take it apart, but too frugal to throw it away. So all those bits got stuffed into a container (also known as my Bead Graveyard).

One day I decided to resurrect some of my unfinished bits and started stitching together my first Frankenstein project. Since I tend to stick to my favorite palette, most of the pieces looked quite nice together. I used one unifying bead to stitch my parts together and before I knew it ... it was alive!

This is the basis of Stash’s Frankenstein Project. During the months of May and June, we are offering five different Frankenstein Boot Camp classes (only $20 per class) that will not only teach you specific stitches, but also provide you with starts for your own “Frankie.” Each class will give you instruction on two variations of a basic stitch.

Once the classes are over, we will have an all-day Frankenstein Project Open Workshop where you can get technical tips and creative help on how to combine your class bits into a necklace, pendant, or bracelet. This workshop is free to those who have taken at least three of the Frankenstein Boot Camp classes. (regular workshop fee $10) Open Workshop means you can come anytime and stay as long as you like!
